Running Computers

Some appliances require a more stable voltage supply than others. Sensitive electronic instruments such as computers can be damaged by voltage anomalies. Running a computer straight from a standard generator is not recommended as the output voltage may not be reliable. We recommend placing an Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) device and an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) device between your computer and your generator.

An AVR has batteries so your computer can continue to run even if your generator cuts out unexpectedly. It also ensures that your computer receives a pure sine wave voltage supply at all times. A UPS provides surge protection so your computer is not damaged by voltage surges.
